Since 2017, Elderfit has been organising an annual walk dedicated to raising funds for Asthma + Lung UK. It’s a brilliant occasion that goes beyond fitness and serves as a great opportunity to get our extended Elderfit community together. After a temporary pause during the COVID-19 pandemic, we were thrilled to resume our annual walk around Roath Park lake last year. This event brings people together, not just to get some exercise but to connect over tea and well-deserved biscuits afterwards.
And this year, we have some extra special news to share. We’re delighted to announce that in April 2023 we not only raised an impressive £824, but also reached an astounding milestone of raising £10,000 for Asthma + Lung UK since 2017! Step by step, our amazing Elderfit community continues to make a remarkable impact in our annual walk for Asthma + Lung UK. It’s an incredible testament to the generosity and dedication of the Elderfit network, and we’re amazed at how much the collective efforts are making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by respiratory illnesses. Thank you to everyone who took part and donated – not just this year, but for the past 6 years.
Glynne was a true Elderfit Champion and someone who inspired others to attend our classes. Not only was he was the very first person to attend our first class many years ago, he encouraged others to come along and even served as a taxi driver to a few lucky participants. Sadly Glynne passed away in 2020, but we remember him every year by continuing to walk in his memory- he was the reason we started this walk, and the reason we selected Asthma+Lung UK as our charity.
